CHICO, Calif. -

Scrambles Restaurant in Chico is adding a new item to their menu and at no cost; helping the less fortunate with a hot meal and a side of extra love.

David Frietas, the owner of Scrambles, is a member of the men’s Christian group in Chico.  In December, they decided to start doing mission work to help out their community.  On December 19, 2012 they launched their plan to serve free hot meals every week to those in need.

On Wednesday night, more than 60 people showed up to Scrambles for the dinner.  Frietas and the men’s Christian group in Chico say they feel blessed that they can lend a helping hand.

“Love thy neighbor as you love yourself and that’s what we’re doing giving back,” says Frietas.

Scrambles is normally open for lunch and dinner.  However, the restaurant will be open for the free dinners every Wednesday at Scrambles in Chico from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
