A surfer is recovering in Humboldt County after California's second shark attack in only a week. It happened Tuesday around noon in Humboldt Bay, near Eureka.
Witnesses say the 25-year-old surfer had a 14-inch shark bite.
People on the beach jumped into the water and pulled him to safety. Another surfer drove the victim to the hospital where he had surgery. He is expected to survive. His name was not released.
A 39-year-old surfer was killed by a great white shark on last Tuesday, October 23, off the Santa Barbara County coast.
