Explosion Reported at Gridley Factory
Officials with Butte County Cal Fire said three people were hurt in an explosion at "Mary's Gone Crackers" on Kentucky Street Thursday night.
They responded to the factory just after 7:00 p.m. When they arrived, they said they found three people hurt. A man suffered moderate injuries, including burns, and was flown to Enloe Medical Center in Chico. A woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. A third person who was hurt was not transported.
The fire caused about $10,000 in damage, and is believed to have originated in a cracker oven. A total of 18 fire personnel responded, including crews from both Cal Fire and Sutter County Fire.
This is the same factory that was recently the subject of a search warrant executed by federal agents after accusations the company was employing illegal workers and working to cover it up.
