Hot Rod Built in Redding Lands National Cover
The people behind Hot Rod Magazine have started a new publication called Overkill.
The current cover features a hot rod that was built in Redding.
The hot rod is a 1931 Nash Model 662.
Todd Van Boekel, who built the car with his son, Jake named the car "Nashty Habit."
The 2200 pound, 500 horse power, two-seater originally looked like the picture posted above.
Van Boekel was trying to sell the car on Ebay a few weeks ago. That's how Overkill magazine first saw the car.
The father son duo has sold Nashty Habit to a buyer in Pennsylvania.
The work now continues on a 1956 Chevy Bel-Air 210 Post, which they hope will be ready in time for Kool April Nights, which is a three-day car event in Redding.
