A Butte County man was treated at the hospital after he was assaulted and robbed at a Paradise park.

It happened Monday just after 6:30 p.m. on a hiking trail at Bille Park.

The victim told police he was walking on a trail leading into the canyon when he was hit from behind.

When he turned around, the suspect pointed a handgun at him.  The victim struggled with the suspect who fired a shot, missing the victim.

The suspect took several items and ran away.  The victim was treated and released from the hospital.
