People will gather in communities across the Northstate Tuesday night for 29th Annual National Night Out. Last year approximately 36 million people in over 15,000 communities around the world celebrated National Night Out.
Chico will host an event on the south side of Sycamore Pool in the One Mile Recreation Area. It runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Redding will have events at several locations:
1.) 3550 Churn Creek- Marquis Care Shasta parking lot (Starts @ 5pm)
2.) Vista Ridge Park- Corner of Whet Owl Ln. & Tanglewood (Starts @ 6pm)
3.) East Oak Park- Corner of Lofty Oaks Dr. & Arizona Ave. (Starts @ 7pm)
4.) MLK Park- Corner of Sheridan St. and West St. (5pm-8:30pm)
5.) Redding Aquatic Center (6:45pm-8:30)
In Anderson there will be a gathering from 5pm to 8pm at Oak River Rehab on 3300 Franklin Street.
Below is a list of block parties that open to the public. The block parties will start between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. and end around 9:00 p.m. The Redding Aquatic Center party is open to the public and there is a fee to enter the Aquatic Center.

Residents who are not in an area having a block party are encouraged to show their commitment to keeping their neighborhood crime-free by leaving their porch lights on all night long for National Night Out.
Orland will hold its National Night Out event in Library Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Oroville will host its first-ever event at Hammon Park. It runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
