26-year-old Adam Jacob is being held on more than $1 million bail for the murder of his mother, Donna Tiefer, age 56.
District Attorney Mike Ramsey said that Jacob had been having arguments with his mother because of a custody battle between him and his wife. Jacob was fighting for the custody of his 2-year-old son and his mother, Tiefer, was supporting the child's mother because of Jacob's alleged mental issues.
On Tues., Sept. 25, Tiefer did not show up for work and her coworkers asked police to check on her. When the sheriff's deputies arrived at her house, Ramsey said the door was slightly open and Tiefer was found dead on her bed, stabbed approximately 20 times with a sharp instrument.
According to the autopsy report, Tiefer's body showed signs of defending herself.
Jacob has a prior misdemeanor charge on his record for the possession of a loaded gun.
He is being arraigned on Wed., Oct. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
