ANDERSON, Calif. -

Anderson Police Department said several anonymous tips regarding a stolen backhoe from the roundabout construction site on Deschutes Road in Anderson led them to the discovery of another grand theft.

Public Information Officer Casey Day with the Anderson Police Department says they received calls Tuesday morning with information on the stolen backhoe, valued at around $100,000.00.

The information led police and several other law enforcement agencies to the area below Dersch Road, west of Ash Creek Road in Shasta County.  Police found only part of the backhoe in a ditch.  The hydraulic hammer was removed from the backhoe, and police are still searching for the rest of the tractor.  A stolen truck valued at around $50,000.00 was also located in the area.

So far no arrests have been made, but police say the suspect has a significant record of felony grand theft.  Police also add that Tuesday’s discovery may lead investigators to more stolen items….

The Anderson Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at (530) 378-6600.
