REDDING, Calif. -

Digger the badger helped break ground at Turtle Bay Exploration Park on Tues. in a celebration of new exhibits.

Turtle Bay employees announced that they will be building eight new animal habitats over the next two to three years.

Construction of the first exhibit will begin right away and will be the new home for two foxes.

Eventually, new habitats will be built for owls, hawks, porcupines and racoons--among other animals.

Workers said the new habitats will give animals extra space to live more naturally and will improve their quality of life.

This is the largest project that Turtle Bay has had in almost eight years.
