CHICO, Calif. -

Enloe Medical Center opened its new Magnolia Tower Thursday morning.

The hospital's new main entrance opened at 5:30 a.m..  Patients will be moved into the new tower over the next three days.

The 191,000 square-foot addition doubles the size of the medical center. Along with the new tower opening, one block of Magnolia Avenue will re-open connecting 5th and 6th avenues.

The next phase of the project is the emergency room expansion which is set to begin this week.

The expansion project has been several years in the making.
