Rushing for more than 1200 yards this season, even after an injury, the hole Avery Holley is leaving in the Shasta High School offense will be noticeable.
The Wolves' running back scored 19 touchdown. It's those kinds of numbers that earned him a spot as a finalist for the 2012 KRCR News Channel 7 Northstate Heisman.
"It's great to see an open hole," said Holley. "As soon as I see that I can sprint forward, and see no one else around except for one or two other guys, it's probably the best feeling."
Shasta football coach Aaron Gingery said Holley is a force on the football field.
"He's a human highlight reel, in terms of running people over," said Gingery.
Holley hopes to continue playing at the collegiate level.
