Enterprise High School running back Brad Woods is a finalist for the KRCR News Channel 7 Northstate Heisman Trophy.
There's almost nothing Woods hasn't accomplished this season. As the featured running back for the Northern Section Division 1 Champion Enterprise Hornets, Woods ran for almost 1,400 yards in 2012.
He scored two touchdowns in the championship game. One of those scores will be hard to forget. As time ran out in the first half, Woods took the handoff from Enterprise quarterback Zack Trueblood. Woods ran through and bounced off Paradise High School tacklers. Just as he was about to be tackled, he tossed a lateral pass to Taylor Angley-Holman. With no time on the clock, Angley-Holman rumbled into the endzone to give Enterprise the lead at halftime 28-21.
Woods said he preferred his other touchdown, because it allowed him to run right down the sideline past the rival Paradise team and fans.
The Hornets went on to win the championship with a 2 point-conversion with less than one minute left in the 4th quarter by a final of 36-35.
Woods said he's talking to a couple of small colleges about playing football next year. He has yet to decide where he will attend college.
