An Orland man was stabbed several times at an apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at the Arch Apartments at 134 N. Sixth Street. Police arrived and found 31-year-old Steven Hernandez sitting in a chair outside of an apartment with multiple stab wounds on his body. 

26-year old Javier Chavez allegedly stabbed Hernandez with a knife four to six times, then fled the complex on a bicycle.

Officials later found Chavez and booked him into the Glenn County Jail on attempted murder charges.

Hernandez was taken to the hospital and is recovering from a collapsed lung.

The case is still under investigation, it's unknown whether or not this attack was gang related.
