Parolee Arrested In His Own Backyard

ORLAND, Calif. -

When 43-year-old Gary Helton failed to pull over Wednesday morning,
deputies literally chased him into his own backyard.

Sergeant Todd James of the Glenn County Sheriff's Department said that Helton, a wanted parolee, led police on a chase that ending at his home on County Road J.

Helton took off running into nearby orchards when the driver of the car stopped.

Deputies found him and took him into custody without a problem.

Helton was put on noble felony parole hold by the Department of Corrections  and charged with evading and resisting arrest by the Glenn County Sheriff's Department.
