A small private plane taking off from Oroville Airport made an emergency landing on State Route 70 east of Pentz Road around 8 a.m. Thursday.
FAA officials say the plane was a Piper PA28. The pilot was the only person on board and is not injured. As of 9 a.m. the roadway was cleared.
According to the pilot, John Schnieder, of Susanville, the emergency landing was due to engine trouble. Schnieder couldn't land at Quincy Airport because of fog.
