In response to President Barack Obama's proposed new gun policies, some pro-gun rallies have been scheduled for this weekend.
Several Tehama County Tea Party Patriots say they believe more regulation will only make people rebel against the new policies.
They said they support America's Constitution, particularly the second amendment, which is the right to bear arms.
June Cooper, one of the Tea Party Patriots, said she doesn't own or shoot guns, but she does believe it is a right that needs to be protected.
"I believe in the second amendment and everybody in our tea party is all for the second amendment and it's not right for the government to fool around with our constitution," Cooper said.
Members also said they have no issue with the government strengthening background checks.
When it comes down to it, they said they don't think it would change much because many people who abuse the use of guns get their hands on them illegally anyways.
The Corning Patriots are holding a rally on Saturday from starting at 11 a.m. in the NAPA parking lot.
Another one is being held Saturday at the corner of Antelope Boulevard and Main Street in Red Bluff at 11 a.m.
