RV Explosion Sends Man To Hospital
Corning Fire Officials say an RV blaze on Friday night started from a propane leak, injuring the man living inside.
The flames made their way to several boxes of ammunition, which caused an additional explosions in the RV. The fire happened at the Lazy Corral Trailer Park in the 2100 block of Fig Lane in Corning. It was reported at 6:40 p.m. and fire crews contained the blaze in about 30 minutes.
Twenty residents in the trailer park were evacuated during the fire fight, but allowed back into their homes when the fire was contained.
The person injured has been identified as a 79-year-old man. He received burns to 10% of his body and was airlifted to a burn center. The RV sustained $10,000 in damage.
The cause of the propane leak remains under investigation.
