REDDING, Calif. -

North State soccer star and Olympic gold medalist, Megan Rapinoe received another high honor Friday night.

She was honored by the State Legislature for her contributions to her community and state.

Rapinoe was presented a plaque by Assemblyman Jim Nielsen at the Redding Soccer Park with hundreds in attendance. Megan was introduced by her twin sister, Rachel.

Rapinoe said, "thank you to the soccer park, to the city and to all the adults behind this amazing night and all the support that i received, but thanks to the kids as well."

More than 100 young North State soccer players watched in excitement as Megan accepted another honor.

Her list of accolades also include a gold medal in London and the City of Redding declaring 2012 as the year of Megan Rapinoe.
