RED BLUFF, Calif. -

Red Bluff Police Chief Paul Nanfito announced new details into the homicide investigation of 14-year-old Marysa Nichols.

During a press conference Friday night, Nanfito showed media members surveillance video of who Red Bluff police investigators believe is a person of interest in the case.

The video shows the person of interest walking east on Douglas street, in front of the campus on Tuesday afternoon. The man then walked into the Red Bluff High School parking lot entrance.

The video shows Nichols arriving in the same area as the man about one and a half minutes later. However, that video was not played out of respect for the family.

The press conference was held about one hour after hundreds of mourners gathered at the Red Bluff High School football field for a prayer vigil.

Marysa Nichols' body was found in a field behind the football field on Thursday morning.

The 14-year-old was first reported missing by her mother on Tuesday afternoon after she didn't return home from school.

Red Bluff police are asking anyone with information on the case to call them.
