Redding firefighters responded to a house fire at 1648 Sonoma Street in Redding.

The fire was reported around 10  a.m. Tuesday.  It was confined to one room on the lower level in the back of the house.

Initial indications pointed to electrical problems as the cause.

Homeowners extinguished most of the fire with a hose. Firefighters extinguished the rest of the fire when they arrived on scene.
