A traffic stop for expired registration led to a wanted parolee being arrested for illegally possessing guns.
It happened at about 10:30 Wednesday morning near the corner of Loleta and Marguerite Avenues in Corning.
When police stopped 37-year-old Rodney Lyman of the City of Shasta Lake, they found 2 rifles in his car, which were illegal for Lyman to possess as a felon on parole.
Lyman was arrested and is being held without bail in the Tehama County Jail.
