On Friday deputies in the City of Shasta Lake received information regarding an ongoing burglary investigation that started the previous week.
On November 24th a resident living in the 1800 block of Ashby Road reported his home had been burglarized while he was out of town.
The burglary was discovered by the homeowner's friend who was taking care of animals at the home.
Deputies said when they arrived to the scene they conducted an investigation but were unable to name any suspects.
However, a possible address for the suspect was revealed when conducting a follow-up investigation on the victim's stolen credit card.
According to the Sheriff's Office the address of the possible suspect was on the 1900 block of Ashby Road where the victim observed several items which he said were stolen from his home.
The Shasta County Office of Major Crimes obtained a search warrant and deputies said they recovered several stolen items from other reported burglaries as well as stolen firearms.
Investigators said all suspects and victims in this case have not been named because it is an ongoing investigation.
According to the Sheriff's Office self applied markings, including initials and serial numbers on the stolen property were beneficial in this case because it helped return the property to it's rightful owners.
