RED BLUFF, Calif. -

Saint Elizabeth Community Hospital has a new addition. The hospital has launched a center for vein care in the Dignity Health Surgery Center of Red Bluff.

Hospital officers said there are about 30 million people who are currently undiagnosed with spider veins, varicose veins or chronic venous insufficiency.

St. Elizabeth can now offer state of the art treatments to minimize and reduce different types of veins without being too invasive. The procedures are considered vascular surgery, not cosmetic.

Dr. Dahlia Alspaugh is one of the doctors who will be doing the procedures. She said the procedures all depend on the type of vein.

“This is done wide-awake, minimally invasive," said Dr. Alspaugh. "You’re in and out. Recovery time is very short and you basically get back to your routine immediately – the results have been amazing.”
