CORNING, Calif. -

A man is recovering after he was stabbed several times and found lying in the road in Corning.  

It happened around 1:30 a.m Thursday in the 1100 block of Toomes Avenue.  The victim, Sergio Meza, 27, was found lying along the road, with stab wounds to his arm and upper leg.

He said he was walking on Toomes Avenue near Scott Avenue when he was confronted by two men.  The men began to argue with Meza.  Meza tried to run away.  One of the men chased Meza and stabbed him.

Meza was transported to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.

The two suspects have not been captured.
