Suspects Mention "Colors" Before Attacking & Stabbing Teen

RED BLUFF, Calif. -

Red Bluff Police are searching for two men they say stabbed a 16-year-old. Police say the stabbing could be gang-related.

Red Bluff Police tell KRCR News Channel 7 they responded to a call from Saint Elizabeth Hospital where a teen showed up with a stab wound.

According to the victim, the stabbing happened Friday around 10:30 p.m.. The teenager, whose name won't be released, told Red Bluff PD he was walking toward South Jackson street in the vacant lot east of James Avenue when two Hispanic men approached him asking what color he "claims."

The victim says he walked away and claims one of the suspects punched him in the head, knocking him to the ground. When he stood up the other suspect slashed his hand with a knife.

The victim told police was able to escape and run to a friend's house for help. He claimed he did not know the two suspects. The teen was treated and released from St. Elizabeth Hospital.
