Tehama County officially launched a discount prescription program, open to anyone in the Northstate.

It's called Coast2Coast Prescription Card Program. It allows people to save up to 75% on both brand name and generic drugs.

Tehama County teamed up with Coast2Coast to bring this program to the Northstate.

You don't have to live in Tehama County to benefit. Whether you live in Shasta, Butte or any other Northstate county, you can sign up too.

The program works at all major chain pharmacies, like Walgreeens and Raleys, plus a lot of smaller ones. It covers more than 60,000 drugs; everything from dental to vision and it even covers precriptions for your pets.

Eventually, the program will give Tehama County $1.25 in royalties every time one of their cards are used.

The main goal is to help people without insurance pay for medications, but anyone can benefit. There are no requirements to sign up and it's free.
