Transient Campfire Sparks Propane Tank Explosions

REDDING, Calif. -

A series of explosions gave people in  Redding an early wake-up call Monday morning.

It happened just before 5 a.m.near Eureka Way and Buenaventura Boulevard.

Firefighters said a transient campfire got out of control and spread, causing some barbeque-size propane tanks to explode.

No one was injured and firefighters quickly contained the flames.

This is the second transiet campfire to spread out of control in the last two days.

On Sunday,firefighters contained a quarter-acre fire near the Sundial Bridge.
