On Tuesday evening, the Mountain Communities Healthcare District Board discussed the future of the Trinity Hospital, letting people know it is staying open.
More than 100 people attended the meeting, which takes place the fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m. every month. MCHD owns and operates the Trinity Hospital in Weaverville. Rumors were circulating that the Trinity Hospital was facing a possible closure due to financial and management issues. However, the MCHD directors said the rumor simply isn’t true.
Many people who showed up at the meeting voiced concerns with the hospital’s management and personnel practices. Some complained that employees at the hospital were treated unfairly, and even threatened if they worked overtime.
The board says they are taking the community’s concerns seriously. Both the employees and board agree they want to fix the issues and return to making patients the top priority.
