SHINGLETOWN, Calif. -

Two women were airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center after being shot early Monday morning.

The Shasta County Sheriff's Office said two women arrived at a local hospital for gunshot wounds around 5:00am.

The Hospital notified the Sheriff's Office and the Major Crimes Unit immediately took over the investigation.

Deputies are treating this as an attempted murder case. It happened on Woodburrow and Highway 44 in Shingletown.

One male victim involved in the incident was not injured.
