A Chico man is recovering from serious, but not life-threatening injuries, after police say he ran into the back of a car while riding his motorcycle.
It happened Friday just after 6 p.m. Investigators say Mario Quezada, 32, was riding his Suzuki SV motorcycle northbound on the Esplanade in the left lane. In front of him a Toyota Solara was stopped for a red light at 11th and Esplanade.
Police say Quezada failed to stop and collided with the back of the car, and was thrown from his motorcycle.
Quezada was cited for DUI at Enloe Medical Center, and released at the hospital so he could receive treatment.
The northbound lanes of the Esplanade were closed for nearly two hours.
