Butte Humane Society's Dog Adoption Center is trying to replace the donations stolen when a burglar broke into the building.
A burglar broke in over the weekend by shattering the front door window, then stealing a donation jar.
A photo on the Butte Humane Facebook page, shows the front door boarded up.
A donor has already offered to replace the door, but they still need to raise $900 dollars to get a new alarm system.
Donations came pouring in after the story first appeared on KRCR News Channel 7 at 11. By Tuesday morning organizers said they'd already collected about $450.
The organization depends on donations to care for animals.
If you'd like to donate, do so at the Dog Adoption Center (2579 Fair St) during public hours (12-6pm) or donate online at http://www.buttehumane.org/donate .
