The CHP responded to a traffic accident that knocked out Thursday morning power just east of Redding.    

An estimated 2,500 customers lost power after a car hit a power pole around 7 a.m. along Old Oregon Trail.

Due to the power outage, classes are cancelled at Bella Vista Elementary school.

Power was restored to most customers by mid-morning.  The remaining 19 customers were expected to have power restored by  1 p.m.
