HAYFORK, Calif. -

A Hayfork man admitted to involvement in connection with the shooting and killing of another man.

39-year-old Delbert Hulseman was arrested for allegedly shooting 32-year-old Weston Atwood in the upper torso. Deputies said moments before Atwood died, he told them that Hulseman shot him.

Jacob Oropeza, 28, was accused of being an accessory to the murder, but has since then been released and is no longer a suspect.

The call came in around 6:30 p.m. Friday after Atwood ran from Hulseman's home in Hayfork on the 200 block of Gravel Mix Road to Seabring Road.

When deputies arrived they found Atwood with a gunshot wound in the chest.

He told deputies who shot him and they went to the home and made an arrest.  Atwood died on the way to the hospital.  Investigators still don't know why Atwood was shot.
