On Friday the Shasta County Coroner's Office identified the man found dead at the Big Bend hot springs Wednesday night.

Joshua Ryan Friend, 28, was found around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Detectives said they're treating the investigation as a suspicious death.

Deputies said he was a white man between the ages of 30 to 40 years old, 6'3", 200 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on his right hand and upper arm.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.
