Chico Police say a man was stabbed in the parking lot of the Dutch Bros. Coffee location on East Park Ave. around 3 p.m. Monday.
Authorities said 25-year-old Jeremy Rivera and 32-year-old Trina Baltazar-Dollar spent all day in the parking lot when 42-year-old John Kenyon walked through. Kenyon somehow got into a verbal alteration with the Rivera and Baltazar-Dollar. That's when police said the altercation escalated to a stabbing.
Rivera stabbed the victim in the chest near the upper torso area. Baltazar-Dollar then hit Kenyon with a "cheap metal broom handle" as described by police.
Kenyon was driven to the hospital and was rushed into surgery. Police said he suffered from a collapsed lung.
Police arrested both Rivera and Baltazar-Dollar after a witness pointed them out.
