Happy Valley, Calif. -

Deputies have located the man who was reportedly shooting a gun while walking down a Happy Valley road Wednesday.

Officials found the man near Hawthorne Avenue in Happy Valley, just a few miles from where he was reportedly last seen.

The search began just before noon. Deputies along with a CHP helicopter and multiple K-9 units were out searching the areas of Connie and Fuzzy Lane where the suspect, ex-felon Daniel Whalen, was last spotted.

During the search there was a hard closure at Fuzzy Lane and Happy Valley Road while officials combed the surrounding area for Whalen. After an hour, officials suspended the search.

He was described by witnesses as a white man with a mustache wearing grey pants, a black and white striped long sleeve shirt, and a black cowboy hat.

There was a voluntary lockdown at Happy Valley Elementary School and Happy Valley Primary School, but it was soon lifted after officials suspended the search.
