The National Weather Service confirmed Thursday night that a tornado touched down earlier in the evening just south of Red Bluff and east of Interstate 5.
Several KRCR News Channel 7 viewers sent in video and photos of the funnel cloud as it moved northeast. It was initially spotted west of Interstate 5 just after 6:30 p.m. and moved to the northeast, touching down just east of the interstate.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Tehama County around 6:51 p.m. on Thursday. The warning expired at 7:15 p.m.
No damage has been reported. Based on reports from trained storm spotters the National Weather Service confirmed the tornado touched down. They will not survey the area but based on pictures and reports they believe it was most likely an EF0 tornado, which is lowest on the scale in terms of strength.
