Nearly 2,300 customers were without power Wednesday afternoon.
It happened around 12:30pm. Pacific Gas and Electric officials said an underground electric cable failed at W. Lindo Avenue near the Esplanade.
Originally they thought the power outage was due to a transformer fire.
The outage affected portions of the Esplanade, East Ave, Cohassett Rd., and Lassen Ave. By 1:30pm crews were able to restore all power to its customers.
