Update: Victim Identified in Fatal Redding House Fire

Almaden Dr Fatal House Fire
REDDING, Calif. -

A woman was killed Monday night after a home on Almaden Drive caught fire.

The Shasta County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Stephanie Ann Lopez, 52.

The Redding Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.  It started just after 10 p.m. Monday in the master bedroom of the home at 1783 Almaden Drive in Redding.

Firefighters said the fire was contained to the master bedroom, but the home suffered severe heat and smoke damage.  The damage to the home is estimated at $50,000.

Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.
