REDDING, Calif. -

The CHP has released the name of the man killed in an early morning rollover accident in Redding.

Investigators said Michael Leighton, 45 of Redding, was killed when his car rolled over on the Interstate 5/Highway 44 connector near downtown Redding.

It happened just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the CHP, Leighton was trying to drive onto westbound Highway 44 when he crashed.  He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle came to rest upside down in the green space in the middle of the interchange.

Traffic was not impacted by the crash.
