CITY OF SHASTA LAKE, Calif. -

CAL FIRE said Monday morning the Flanagan Fire in the City of Shasta Lake has scorched 70 acres just south of Flanagan Road.

The blaze was 80% contained as of 8 a.m. Monday. Forward progress of the fire has been stopped, according to CAL FIRE.

The blaze broke out around 2 p.m. Sunday and forced some evacuations and road closures.

At one time the fire also threatened structures on Huckleberry Road and Carpet Creek Way.

An evacuation center was set up in the gym at Central Valley High School, but it was closed around 6:15 p.m.

On Sunday evening dispatchers said all closed roads in the area of Flanagan Road are re-opened and all evacuations are lifted.
