REDDING, Calif. -

A man has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a Redding market.

Firefighters were called to the Sure Stop market on South Market Street just before 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.

When crews showed up, a window was broken, indicating that the store may have been broken into.

They started to put out the flames and in the process, came across 28-year-old Andrew Giampapa. He is on parole for arson.

Police said he was found face down on the ground in the cold locker. A cash box was also found on the ground.

Firefighters treated Giampapa for smoke inhalation.

He was taken to Mercy Medical Center and then was turned over to the Shasta County Jail.

The store had been ransacked.

Giampapa was arrested for arson, burglary and parole violation.
