Suspect arrested in deaths of three people in burned car
Butte County authorities have made an arrest in deaths of three people whose bodies were found in a burned car near Magalia. The bodies were found just after midnight on the Skyway near Hupp-Coutenlenc Road on June 13.
Donald Clark, 72, of Centerville was arrested Wednesday morning. Search warrants were served in the 14000 block of Centerville Road.
Clark was arrested for arson and three counts of murder. He was booked into the Butte County Jail with a bail of $3,050,000.
Autopsies were conducted on all three victims on Tuesday, June 18. Two of the bodies were found in the trunk of the burned Acura sedan. A third body was found in the back seat. Gunshot wounds were discovered in all three victims.
The victims have been tentatively identified as residents from the Sacramento area, their names will not be released, pending positive identification. The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Sacramento area.
No further arrests are anticipated at this time, however, the investigation is continuing.
