REDDING, Calif. -

Shasta County Sheriff’s investigators have located 5-year-old Aden Garland and 7-year-old Dane Garland, after following up on leads from the community.

Detectives found the brothers in good health at around 4:30 p.m., Thursday.

Sheriff’s investigators said 36-year-old Mindy Delgado, the mother of the two boys, admitted to taking the children and hiding them from their grandparents, the brother’s court approved legal guardians.

Delgado failed to return the boys to their legal guardian after a routine, court-approved visitation in the City of Shasta Lake on Saturday night.

Delgado told detectives she took the boys because she felt her sons were not safe with their grandparents.

The brothers were reported as endangered and at-risk because Delgado does not have legal custody of the two children.

Those related to the young brothers said Delgado would lock the boys in a room for hours, not allowing them to go to the bathroom.

Detectives interviewed both the legal guardians and the boys, and found no reason to believe the children are unsafe under the supervision of the grandparents.

Delgado was arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail, on charges of two felony counts of child abduction. She is currently being held without bail, pending court proceedings.
