CAL FIRE said no more burning yard waste in Butte County because it's too dangerous.
Fire officials said due to the lack of rain they have suspended all burn bans for the unincorporated parts of Butte County.
No one is allowed to burn any piles of debris in their yard for the time being.
CAL FIRE said with the unseasonal conditions they had to issue this ban one month earlier than they normally do which is July 1.
Firefighters said these types of burns are the leading cause of wildfires.
"While we are encouraging people to continue clearing their yards and maintaining the clearance around their homes we want them to do it in a safe manner because of the unseasonable hot and dry conditions,” said Marie Sager with Butte County CAL FIRE.
However, agriculture burns are still fine but you still have to maintain a burn permit with the Air Quality Management District.
Gridley and Biggs will not be affected by this burn ban and Chico never allows dooryard burns.
CAL FIRE said you can take your debris to a local landfill.
