BURNEY, Calif. -

Burney's 58th annual Basin Days has kicked off.

It started Wednesday and goes through the weekend.

It's a fun event and is free for everyone.

It's "small town excitement,"Anne Kerns, the chair of the event, said, "I don't know how else to put it. It's the kind of things you won't find in small town America: the chuck wagon breakfast, the VFW barbeque, the fireworks will be Saturday night, there will be a big parade on Saturday morning."

Kerns also pointed out that it will most likely be quite a bit cooler in the Burney area this weekend.
