OROVILLE, Calif. -

Investigators are looking into a deadly officer-involved shooting in Butte County.

On Sunday at 6:55 p.m. the Butte County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a family disturbance at 275 Refuge Avenue in Oroville.

The reporting party stated that Cory Lee Bush, 24, was having a nervous breakdown, was out of control and tearing up the house.

According to a news release from the Butte County Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Matt Keeling, Deputies Brian Evans, Robert Allen and Ben Cornelius responded to the address and an armed confrontation occurred.

Bush was shot by Deputy Cornelius and pronounced deceased at the scene.  The Butte County Officer Involved Shooting Protocol Team was activated.  The team consists of investigators from local and state agencies who will conduct the investigation.

Deputy Cornelius has been placed on administrative leave, which is normal procedure. This incident is under investigation.
