Chico Police Arrested Two Brothers In The Act of Burglarizing A Lowes in Chico

CHICO, Calif. - A hole in a fence led to a foiled robbery in Chico.

Officer Regan Ortega was patrolling the Lowe's store off Forest Avenue last night because home improvement stores had been getting ripped off frequently in Butte County.

When she did, she noticed a cut fence in the garden department.

She called for backup and two Red Bluff brothers, 34-year-old Bryan Castor and 40-year-old Russel Castor, were arrested.

Lieutenant Mike O'Brien of Chico Police praised Ortega's work.

"This was not an alarm call," said O'Brien. "It was a piece of excellent police work by Officer Ortega doing her job and then finding these suspicious circumstances."

The Castor brothers are being held in the Butte County Jail.
