Chico Police Investigating Two Stabbings at Bar in Two Days

CHICO, Calif. - Chico police are investigating two stabbings that happened just a day apart at The Beach Bar.

One was on Saturday, another on Sunday, yet police say the incidents are not related.

Both stabbings happened early in the morning just outside of the bar.

According to police, on Saturday, the victim was inside the club with a friend who got into an argument with another man. A short time later, as the victim was leaving, police said he reporting feeling a punch to his back and seeing the suspect walk away.

The victim soon realized he had been stabbed.

Sunday's stabbing was similar. Police said the victim got into an argument inside the bar, which escalated into a fight. According to investigators, the victim was slashed a few times in his upper back and taken to hospital.

Police said they arrested someone in the suspect's group after he tried to run away but police said they do not know if that man is the suspect.

"The one nexus we do have is both of these incidents occurred on subsequent nights at the same bar, The Beach, that's concerning to us," said Lt. Mike O'Brien.

We tried calling management at the beach earlier Monday looking for a comment but they did not return our phone calls.

Chico police are still looking for both suspects.

One suspect is described as a black man with short hair and a goatee wearing a red polo and Levis jeans.  The other is described as an Asian man with medium height and weight. Chico police requests that you call them if you have any information.
