Chico police searching for stabbing suspect

CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Police Department is looking for a woman suspected of an unprovoked stabbing who was last seen in the area of Lindo Channel, Sunday. 

According to officials, the victim was walking along the bike path in Lindo Channel, around 2:10 p.m.

The victim told officers that she was approached by an unknown woman who asked her for money. When the victim refused the suspect used a sharp object to cut her. The victim received a laceration to her arm and sought medical attention at a local hospital.

The suspect was last seen running from the area, eastbound in Lindo Channel. She was described as a white woman adult approximately 40-50 years old, with curly blond hair. She was wearing a gray jacket and dark pants. Officers searched the area for the female suspect but were unable to locate her.
